The second (return) game of the finals of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League between Cardenales de Lara and Tiburones de La Guaira ended in the worst possible way. Footage of the furious fight, which was filmed by fans present at the stadium, is going around the world.
In the bottom of the eighth game, Venezuelan Maikel Garcia secured the impressive lead to give his team a 10-8 score. The party was special. In fact, while doing the classic lap, he started arguing with the opposing bench and moreover imitated the gesture of the clock.
Garcia’s provocations initially annoyed coach Carlos Narvaez. A huge brawl broke out soon after, as several players tried to calm things down, but failed.
There were slaps, punches, kicks and pulls, involving almost every man on the field, under the eyes (and smartphones) of bemused fans. In short, they have written a bad page of violence in Venezuela.
