On Friday evening, the German newspaper “Welt am Sonntag” dropped the “bombshell” that UEFA is in danger of expelling Barcelona from the Champions League.
According to the newspaper in question, the possible sanction against Barcelona by UEFA is related to the disrespect of financial “fair play” by the Spanish club.
The information published by this newspaper spoke of some questionable accounts regarding the increase in income that the Catalan club has had, apart from the usual movements of a football club.
On the other hand, as reported by MARCA, Barcelona along with nine other top European clubs, including PSG, Manchester City and AC Milan, are being investigated for non-compliance with financial regulations set by UEFA to being able to participate in the competitions organized by it.
Barcelona said yesterday that it knows nothing about this situation, but the Spanish newspaper has been able to ensure that the solution of the case, that of Barca and the rest of the teams under investigation, will arrive in February 2024.
What is happening now are rumors or leaks of information made with some purpose and which have arrived since the decision of the European Court about the dominant position of UEFA.
