The Paris Olympics have produced a host of controversies in various disciplines. Women’s boxing is not left behind either.
In recent days, there has been a lot of talk about the participation of Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting in Paris, becoming the object of criticism on social networks.
Both female boxers were disqualified from the 2023 World Cup due to having XY chromosomes (as men have), when women must have two X chromosomes.
Imane Khelif had received criticism from Italy (including rivals Carini) before the match, as they considered her to be “trans”, and saw the decision she could make as unfair.
After her match against Angela Carini, the criticism will surely not stop, as after 46 seconds the Italian said enough and gave up and then burst into tears.
“Mi ha fatto malissimo”, which means “It hurt me a lot”, was written on the lips of the Italian woman.
She also repeatedly said “it’s not fair” during the decision and refused to salute her Algerian “rival” at the end.
The duel started with a brutal right hand kick from the Algerian, which already caused a problem with Carini’s defensive jaw.
A few seconds after this episode, she raised her hand and ended her participation in the Olympics, showing all her disappointment.
