Oleksandr Usyk has been declared the undisputed heavyweight champion in boxing, after 12 rounds against Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.
In one of the boxing matches that was described by the media as the “meeting of the century”, the Ukrainian managed to win by split decision of the judges.
Although the size of the two boxers differed greatly, Usyk managed to take control of the center of the ring in the first round, with the Briton not thinking of such a thing and continuing to dance.
The first few rounds were evenly matched with both boxers studying each other and occasionally throwing punches for points.
In the seventh round the boxers exchanged some powerful punches, with Usyk landing Fury with a hard left.
The situation took another turn and Usyk was very close to victory in the ninth round after a barrage of blows, but we can say that the gong saved the British boxer without falling to the mat.
In the end, after 12 rounds, Usyk got the well-deserved victory after the judges by split decision decided for the triumph of the Ukrainian with the following results: 115-112, 113-114, 114-113.
