Mourinho: Return to Portugal? My life is football, I can train anywhere
Super guest of the Portimão Grand Prix in Portugal, José Mourinho, was preparing to wave the checkered flag at the finish line of yesterday’s MotoGP race. The 61-year-old Portuguese coach continued the dialogue with the journalists present at the “Autodromo Internacional do Algarve” and did not rule out the possibility of returning as coach of a Portuguese club, after his experiences at Benfica, União de Leiria and Porto: “Never say never , especially in football. My life is football, I can train anywhere. I do not have any problem”.
Mourinho spoke of his departure from Roma: “Sacking? It’s hard to understand how a coach who reaches two European finals in a row can leave. That’s the only strange thing.” Then the Portuguese coach responded to Tiago Pinto’s last statements:
“Mr. Tiago Pinto’s interview? Honestly, I don’t waste a second reading or listening to them, I don’t care at all. I have no interest. Will he work with me again? No, of course not. Sometimes things make us think that nothing is impossible, but in this case it is not possible.”
The former Roma coach dwelt on the future: “What if I miss Italy? I miss work. I love football, but it’s the end of March and no team is going to make changes. I’ll have to wait until the summer . If I can return to Italy? I will return to football, it doesn’t matter where.”
