The court pointed out during the hearing that there is an obvious abuse of dominant power by UEFA and FIFA exercising a monopoly.
According to the said court, UEFA cannot exercise a monopoly and it would be legal to create a parallel competition managed by the clubs.
The decision also adds that football competitions and the use of media are visible economic activities and must comply with competition rules and respect freedom of movement, although the economic activity of sports has some specific characteristics, such as the existence of associations that have certain regulatory and supervisory powers and powers to impose sanctions.
