The volleyball match between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos on Thursday evening ended in the worst possible way.A policeman was seriously injured by the riots between the fans of the two teams that are permanent rivals. While the 31-year-old is fighting for his life, the police are continuing with the arrests, which have reached 424 so far, to make it possible to identify the perpetrators.
The incidents and the very serious wounding of the policeman “escalated” the developments on many levels. The police issued a statement demanding the suspension of all championships, in all sports.
