Embarrassing scenes for the elite level of European basketball were seen in the Euroleague on Thursday evening.
At the end of the match between Real Madrid and Partizan Belgrade, in the second quarter-final matchup between these teams, a massive fight broke out on the floor, which forced the referees to stop the match early.
A rough foul by Real’s Sergio Llull on Kevin Punter when the game was 95-80 for the Serbians led to basketball players from both teams punching and kicking each other, and there were even judo catches.
After watching the footage carefully, 21 out of 24 players were disqualified, therefore the match was also suspended. While within 24 hours the punishments will be given to the players involved in the fight.
The third match will be played in Serbia, next Tuesday, and it seems that the sports war, and not only between these teams, is not over yet.
