TechnologyThe social network Facebook has shown problems for thousands of users around the world this Tuesday. The reports on the “Down Detector” page, which monitors such problems, have started since noon, while they have increased massively in the afternoon.
Many users encounter problems searching for other profiles in the application, others have not been able to access their account.
“My account has been stolen or is it a Facebook problem?”, a user raises the concern in “Down Detector”. “I am not able to see my friends list. Am I the only one with this problem?” Amanda Savory writes on Twitter.
The problems have appeared for users from the United States of America, Australia, China, as well as in a part of Europe.
So far, there has been no official response from the social network for the reasons that have brought these problems.

SportsManchester City v Bayern Munich – Guardiola v Tuchel again.
Guardiola goes back to face his old club for the first time since leaving Bayern Munich for Manchester City in 2016.
He was expecting to face a Julian Nagelsmann team again (having beaten his Hoffenheim twice in 2018-19), but the German side recently sacked him and appointed Thomas Tuchel – a name Guardiola is even more familiar with.
The managers have met 10 times before during a decade-long rivalry with Guardiola winning six and Tuchel three – those successes all coming in a six-week spell between 17 April and 29 May 2021.
That run – which included Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final and Champions League final wins over City – led to a feeling that Tuchel had the edge on Guardiola. In that final Guardiola famously did not play a defensive midfielder in a tactical gamble that failed.
But City beat Tuchel’s Chelsea twice in the Premier League last season, and with four wins and a draw in Germany, including the 2016 DFB-Pokal final, Guardiola actually has the much better record.
Guardiola has had a mixed time against his old clubs. He has faced Barcelona four times since leaving – twice with City and twice with Bayern. He won two of those, but the other matches were 3-0 and 4-0 defeats.
Real Madrid v Chelsea – can Lampard do a Tuchel?
In 2020-21, Chelsea started the season with Frank Lampard in charge and ended it with Tuchel leading them to Champions League glory.
In 2022-23 Chelsea started the season with Tuchel in charge and will end it with Lampard hoping to lead them to Champions League glory.
Lampard is the fourth man to manage Chelsea this season after the sacked Tuchel, the sacked Graham Potter and brief interim boss Bruno Saltor.
He is hoping to keep up an unusual club tradition, winning a European trophy in the first season of his reign – although unlike the others this is his second spell in charge.
Remarkably (even allowing for their love of chopping and changing bosses) Chelsea’s last five European trophies have all come with managers who had taken over that season.
Four of those five took during the season, three of them after Christmas.
Potter may have hoped to join that club but he was sacked last week, with Bruno briefly having that opportunity too – he had initially been expected to be in charge until the end of the season.
In 2022 it was Potter’s predecessor Tuchel and the Champions League. The German had taken over in January.
Italian Maurizio Sarri won the 2019 Europa League in his only season as Chelsea boss.
Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez led Chelsea to the 2013 Europa League, having been interim manager from November.
The season before, Roberto di Matteo had been interim boss for less than three months when he took them to 2012 Champions League glory.
And in February 2008 the late Gianluca Vialli was made Chelsea player-manager and guided them to a European Cup Winners’ Cup victory that summer.
Dave Sexton is the only Chelsea manager to win a European trophy more than a year into his reign, the 1971 Cup Winners’ Cup.
So can Lampard, who won the 2011-12 Champions League as a Chelsea player, add his name to that list?
In their way in the quarter-finals are European royalty Real Madrid, although Chelsea have a good record against them – losing only once in seven meetings.
That is the lowest percentage of losses against Real (14%) of any side to have played them at least five times in Europe.
AC Milan v Napoli – can Kvaratskhelia keep amazing season going?
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a remarkable throwback and something which seemed impossible in modern football.
Nine months ago the average football fan would never have even heard his name, with all Kvaratskhelia’s football being played in the Georgian and Russian leagues plus two Europa Conference League appearances.
And now the Georgian winger is genuinely a superstar and one of the form players in one of the best teams in European football, Serie A’s runaway leaders Napoli.
In Serie A, Kvaratskhelia has 12 goals – only behind four players – and 10 assists – more than anybody else.
Paris St-Germain duo Lionel Messi and Neymar, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka are the only other players to have double figures for both goals and assists in Europe’s top five leagues.
In the Champions League nobody has more than Kvaratskhelia’s four assists.
Kvaratskhelia and Napoli will be hopeful that story can continue with a relatively kind quarter-final draw – against AC Milan, who sit 22 points below them in the table. However Milan did beat them 4-0 earlier this month.
Inter Milan v Benfica – can anyone stop Schmidt’s side?
You would not know this was a Benfica team who sold over £200m worth of talent this season.
First it was star striker Darwin Nunez to Liverpool for a fee of between £64m and £85m – and then midfielder Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea for £107m. More than 30 other players have left the club this season.
And yet under German journeyman manager Roger Schmidt, they look almost unbeatable.
In 46 games in all competitions since appointing the former PSV boss in the summer they have only lost twice – however one of them was on Friday at home to Porto.
They finished top of a Champions League group involving PSG and Juventus, picking up 13 points more than the Italians – and then blew away Club Bruges in the last 16, costing Scott Parker his job.
They are seven points clear of Porto at the top of the Portuguese league as they close in on a first trophy since 2019.
Only Italian teams stand between them and a first European Cup final since 1990, with the winner of their tie against Inter playing AC Milan or Napoli in the semi-finals.

LifeStyleIn recent times, science has evolved at an incredible pace, but ChatGPT took this development to another level. However, scientists seem to have no intention of stopping, and are even claiming to make humans immortal, at least virtually.
Dr Pratik Desai, a scientist who has worked on founding many Silicon Valley AI startups, said that if people have videos of their loved ones, the chance that “they will live with you forever is at the maximum level, 100 percent”. Desai, who has created his own ChatGPT-like system, tweeted: “This should be possible by the end of the year.”
Many scientists believe that the rapid advances in artificial intelligence, which ChatGPT is spearheading, are poised to usher in a new golden age for technology.
However, the world’s most influential people are divided over technology. Elon Musk and hundreds of other important people in technology have called for a “vacation”, warning that it could destroy humanity. On the other hand, Bill Gates is one of those who think that artificial intelligence will improve our lives.
Desai thinks like Bill Gates and believes that we can recreate our loved ones as “avatars” living in a computer!
This process, which would have been unimaginable to tech-addicts a few years ago, will involve digitizing the person’s videos, audio recordings, documents and photos, which will then be fed into an artificial intelligence system. , which learns everything about the person. Users can then design a specific avatar that looks and acts just like their relative.

EntertainmentThe new Super Mario Bros. movie has broken box office records, marking the most successful global opening of all time for an animated film.
The family film – the second Hollywood version of the hit Nintendo game – took in $377 million worldwide in its first five days of release.
This surpassed the previous record of $358 million held by Frozen 2.
“The numbers are sensational,” noted analyst David A Gross, who said it “would easily be the No. 1 movie of 2023.”
In the movie “Super Mario Bros”, the Italian plumber with a mustache is the voice of Chris Pratt, while Jack Black plays the role of Bowser.
Although there was a lot of criticism from experts and “The Guardian”, which it described as boring, many fans seem to disagree, with the 56% score of critics on Rotten Tomatoes eclipsed by the 96% score of the audience. Even Elon Musk wrote on Twitter that “critics are so disconnected from reality!”
“The crowds didn’t seem to care about so many comments,” wrote Pamela McClintock of the Hollywood Reporter.
The film broke other records, including the best opening ever for a movie based on a video game and the best opening of 2023 so far, she said.
Comscore analyst Paul Dergarabedian told the paper: “This is one of the biggest box office performances in recent memory and is absolutely shattering all pre-release predictions.”

PoliticsThe Twitter platform has accused the international media, the BBC, of being a ‘government-funded organisation’.
The BBC has hit back by saying: Britain’s national broadcaster is funded mainly by British households through a license fee, which is also required to watch non-BBC channels or live services. This is supplemented by income from trading operations.
The @BBC account – which has 2.2 million followers – is currently branded as government-funded. The tag has not been given to other BBC accounts, including BBC News (World) and BBC Breaking News.
“We are talking to Twitter to resolve this issue as soon as possible. The BBC is and always has been independent. We are funded by the British public through the license fee,” the BBC said in an interview with CNN.
Twitter initially designated the US broadcaster as “state-linked media”, putting it on par with Russian propaganda network RT and China’s Xinhua News Agency.

Entertainment“Shrek” recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, with the franchise comprising multiple canonical movies, a couple of big-screen spinoffs, and multiple TV specials and streaming series since 2001.
The journey isn’t “ogre” yet. Fans might have more fairytale adventures to look forward to featuring the titular green monster, his waffles-loving best friend Donkey, and their fairy tale friends. In fact, the wait for another “Shrek” movie has been so long that “Shrek 5” will undoubtedly be met with some excitement across the board. It’s been over 10 years since the last sequel, “Shrek Forever After,” made us think that DreamWorks’ hit franchise had completed its run, but the appetite to make more “Shrek” movies never went away. A fifth installment was announced in 2016, though it hasn’t enjoyed the smoothest and swiftest journey to the screen thus far.
Filmmakers appear to still be amidst the very early stages of production, so that film will be coming along… eventually. Here’s all the news and developments for the still untitled fifth “Shrek” movie.
Given that it’s been 13 years since “Shrek Ever After,” the trajectory of “Shrek” releases has been disrupted. At the height of the franchise’s popularity, new “Shrek” movies came along every three years, having been released in 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2010, respectively.
Originally slated for a 2019 release, it’s been all quiet on the Shrek front for a few years. According to Cinema Blend, Eddie Murphy (the voice of Donkey) previously publicly stated that “Shrek 5” could hit theaters in 2020, but that was more of an estimation than a concrete confirmation. According to Fandom, “Shrek 5” was reportedly and tentatively schedule for a September 30, 2022 release, indicated by a home media debut planned for the holiday 2022 season. The coronavirus pandemic undoubtedly stalled the film’s progress, so it’s currently unknown to the public just how far into production “Shrek 5” actually is. The positive news is that the project hasn’t been cancelled and remains a work in progress.
Despite the title proposing that the next movie will be a continuation of what came before, “Shrek 5” is a reboot that promises to reinvent the wheel. The filmmakers aren’t interested in exploring familiar ground. But how they’ll go about revamping things remains to be seen.
“The challenge for us has been to find something that really does feel like it’s not simply yet another film in a series of sequels,” Chris Meledandri said in an interview with Variety. At the same time, the super producer isn’t looking to forgot about what came before either, noting how he’s still “nostalgic” for the old characterizations and the vocal performers who brought them to life. Similar comments were echoed by Mike McCullers, who described the reinvention as “pretty big.” The screenwriter also revealed that the story is very “personal” to him, though he didn’t spill the beans on what to expect from it.
It seems that the creators are keeping the details of the story close to the vest for now. The vague summary indicates that viewers can expect something completely different, but with the spirit of “Shrek” remaining intact to some degree. The Variety report also highlights plans for the long-awaited “Puss In Boots” sequel, suggesting that NBCUniversal sees a big future for this particular fairy tale universe on the screen.
Eddie Murphy’s comments about the upcoming (but however indefinitely delayed) fifth “Shrek” essentially confirm that he’ll reprise the role of Donkey in “Shrek 5.” According to Radio Times, Mike Myers and Murphy are game to return to the franchise when and if they’re asked. “If I had to do ‘Shrek’ a year, I’d be thrilled,” Myers told GQ, while Murphy told Etalk (via EW) that he’d sign up for another installment “in two seconds.” DreamWorks animation consultant Chris Meledandri told Variety in April 2023 that the company was in the midst of working out deals with core cast members. “Talks are starting now, and every indication that we’ve gotten is there’s tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return,” Meledandri revealed.
The “Shrek” movies are a rogues gallery of characters from the world of fairytales, so it’s highly probable that some fresh mythical beings will join the established players in “Shrek 5.” Viewers can also bet money on Dragon making an appearance due to her relationship with Donkey, and it wouldn’t be a “Shrek” movie without the Gingerbread Man stealing a scene or two.

TechnologyItaly’s data protection watchdog on Friday issued an immediate ban on access to OpenAI’s popular artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT. As a reason, this authority cited alleged privacy violations.
In a statement, the Italian National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data said that ChatGPT had “committed a data breach on March 20 regarding user conversations and payment information of subscribers to the paid service”.
The decision, which comes into force immediately, is expected to result in the temporary restriction of data processing of Italian users vis-à-vis the creator of ChatGPT OpenAI”.
ChatGPT was launched in November 2022 and has since become extremely popular, impressing users with its ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely. ChatGPT writes in different styles and languages with a “human tone.” Also, he can create poetry and pass exams.
ChatGPT can also be used to write computer code, without having any technical knowledge.
The Italian data regulator, however, criticized ChatGPT for not providing an information notice to users whose data is collected by OpenAI.
It also objected to the “lack of a legal basis justifying the massive collection and storage of personal data for the purpose of training the algorithms that run the platform”.

EntertainmentHumour makes a welcome return to the fantasy genre in the new Dungeons & Dragons film, which stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Regé-Jean Page. It’s sure to be a hit, writes Nicholas Barber.
Role-playing gamers have been addicted to Dungeons & Dragons for almost 50 years, but, up until now, it has only been made into one proper film, a turkey from 2000 that most people have sensibly forgotten. There are probably lots of complicated legal reasons why it’s taken 23 years for another Dungeons & Dungeons film to come along, but one issue could be that the game borrows a huge amount from JRR Tolkien’s novels, ie, it usually involves bands of elves, dwarves and humans going on quests and getting into fights. What that means is that any attempt to put Dungeons & Dragons on screen risks looking like a rip-off of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. What can the producers do that Peter Jackson hasn’t done already?
The answer turns out to be a simple one: they can be funny. Fantasy adventures might be getting ever more gloomy and portentous on television, but the producers of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves have followed the Marvel Studios tactic of hiring comedy directors to make a blockbuster – in this case, Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the directors of Game Night (2018). The film they’ve made is a feelgood, family-friendly caper, which is not a description you can apply to HBO’s House of the Dragon or Amazon’s The Rings of Power.
Chris Pine stars as Edgin, a Han Solo / Rick Blaine type who used to be a doughty soldier, but became a cynical rogue after his beloved wife was killed. His sidekick is Holga (Michelle Rodriguez), a scowling barbarian who has fallen out with her tribe and separated from her husband (an amusing surprise cameo): this is one of the few Hollywood films in which the male and female leads come across as genuine, loyal, platonic friends.
In an opening scene that establishes the light-hearted mood, Edgin and Holga are in prison for “grand larceny and skulduggery”, but they hope to talk their way into a pardon from “The Council of Absolution” – or, failing that, they hope to jump out of a window. Once free, they travel to a city ruled by their old crony, Forge Fitzwilliam (Hugh Grant), only to find that he has teamed up with a wicked witch (Daisy Head), and turned Edgin’s daughter Kira (Chloe Coleman) against him. Determined to win back Kira, and to rob all the treasure that various visiting noblemen have stored in Forge’s magical vault, Edgin and Holga assemble a team of burglars who are almost as sweetly hapless as they are. There is Simon (Justice Smith), a sorcerer with self-esteem issues whose most impressive trick is to make himself “slightly blurry”. And there is Doric (Sophia Lillis), a woodland woman who can change into various animals, including an “owlbear”.
Rather than aiming for an epic odyssey, then, Goldstein and Daley opt for a bright, snappy heist movie modelled in part on Ocean’s Eleven, with a tongue-in-cheek approach to the supernatural that’s reminiscent of The Princess Bride and Ghostbusters. And the look of the film? Rather than labouring to make the clothing and architecture correspond to one particular historical period, the designers simply stick in whichever castles and costumes seem cool.
What’s welcome about the humour is that the directors, who also co-wrote the screenplay, haven’t been smug or snarky. It would have been easy for them to pepper their script with inside jokes about 12-sided dice and weighty rule books, or else to put in lots of winking references to present-day pop culture. Instead, the humour is silly and irreverent while being more-or-less sincere, and more-or-less invested in the reality of the world they’ve created.
It’s an attitude that’s embodied by Pine. It’s probably no coincidence that Goldstein and Daley’s previous film, the aforementioned Game Night, starred Jason Bateman, because Pine seems to have studied Bateman’s way of being unflappable, ironic, and just on the right side of smarmy, but still vulnerable enough for us to care about. But even if Edgin’s persona was pinched from Bateman, it fits Pine as snugly as his leather jacket: this, rather than Captain Kirk in Star Trek (2009) or Steve in Wonder Woman (2017), is the role that suits him best. Grant is even better as the slimy villain, a puffed-up clown who seems to have been inspired by certain senior British politicians.
Directors: Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley
Cast: Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page
Run-time: 2hr 14m
Release date: 31 March in the US and UK
If the comic tone is skilfully judged, it’s clear that Goldstein and Daley didn’t concentrate quite so hard on other aspects of their film. The plot is so haphazard that viewers might struggle to say what the villains are hoping to achieve. They might also lose interest when the heroes go off on a wild goose chase in the middle, at which point Grant’s character is all but forgotten, and Regé-Jean Page pops in as a noble warrior, for no obvious reason except to get Bridgerton fans into the cinema. The cartoonish visual effects aren’t first-rate, either. In most contemporary fantasy, the CGI is so advanced that every last bristle on a monster’s hide looks tangibly real, whereas this film doesn’t convince you for a second that the characters are in an actual dungeon or facing an actual dragon. Presumably, the theory was that if viewers were smiling, they wouldn’t mind that they weren’t gasping or screaming.
It’s a theory that is just about vindicated. Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves is no masterpiece, but it’s warm, upbeat, unpretentious entertainment, and it’s bound to be popular. We certainly won’t have to wait another 23 years before the next Dungeons & Dragons film comes out.

SportsArsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson became the first coaches in history to be inducted into the “Hall of Fame” in the Premier League.
Wenger sat on the Arsenal bench 828 times, tallying 476 victories and winning the Premier League title 3 times. He is the only one who led his team to an extraordinary title, hence the name “invicibles” for the team of the 2003-2004 season.
Ferguson took over a United that was great in name only and despite a rocky start, he steered them to 13 English league titles. The two combined for 16 league titles and formed one of the most popular and longest-running rivalries in league history. It is the highest honor that can be given to them by the Premier League.

Sports TechnologyThe gala evening of CONMEBOL in honor of the Argentine representative who won the World Cup, surprised everyone when, thanks to technology, two legends who have passed away were shown to the public: Pele and Maradona.
Moving and with their real voices, they had a message for Leo Messi.
“It’s a pleasure to watch him play,” said Pele.
“He is a great player. Let others talk, think about enjoying football”, said Maradona.
