Travel What's HotThousands of protesters descended on the center of Barcelona last night, holding placards and water pistols against holidaymakers. Thus, residents expressed their anger at the increased number of tourists in their town.
With the motto “Enough! Let’s put limits on tourism,” about 2,800 people, according to police figures, protested along a Barcelona beach district, demanding that the state curb the influx of tourists who visit the country each year.
The protestors held banners that read: “Barcelona is not for sale” and “Tourists go home”.
Some of the protesters used water pistols against tourists who were eating at restaurants in popular places. In the background, according to reports, chants of “Tourists out of our neighborhood” could be heard as some stopped in front of hotel entrances.
Barcelona’s ever-increasing housing costs, which have risen by 68% in the past decade, are among the main issues raised by protesters, along with the impact of tourism on local trade and working conditions in the city of 1.6 million.
Rents rose 18 percent in June from a year earlier in tourist cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, according to real estate website Idealista.
For years, the city has been shrouded in anti-tourism graffiti and messages such as “tourists go home” aimed at visitors, which some locals blame for driving up property prices and shaping the economy.
Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni announced in June a plan to phase out all short-term rentals by 2028.
Authorities are trying to curb rising housing costs and make the city more livable for residents.
But many still believe not enough has been done to balance the needs of tourists, who bring millions to the city each year, with those of locals.

LifeStyle Trending USAEminem’s new album, which will be released on July 12, will be titled “Death of Slim Shady”. The introductory trailer has images similar to a horror film, but certainly does not lack the irony typical of the contraversary artist. The first song of the album, “Houdini”, released a few days ago, is currently one of the most listened to songs in the world and is present in all world charts. The hit is currently at number one in the charts in England, Australia, Austria, Germany, Iceland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Canada and the United States.
Eminem first announced “The Death of Slim Shady” in April, when he published an obituary in the Detroit Free Press, saying goodbye to Slim Shady, his famous alter ego used throughout his career. Through this fictional character, Eminem was noted for lyrics with biting irony and music videos mocking the American psyche.
Beyond the two tracks, “The Death of Slim Shady” is an album produced in collaboration with Dr. Dre, with whom Eminem has had a close relationship since the beginning of his career.

PoliticsA candidate of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party has withdrawn from the race despite having a positive result in the first round of early legislative elections for the Calvados constituency.
Ludivine Daoudi had to withdraw her candidacy because a photo of her wearing a Nazi hat has gone viral on the internet.
Her departure from the race was announced by party delegate Philippe Chapron this Tuesday morning. “She doesn’t deny it, she took this photo a few years ago in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives. Indeed, the picture has left a bitter taste. We cannot accept such a thing”, explains Chapron.
The photo of Ludivine Daoudi has been shared on social networks in recent hours, especially by the candidate of the New Popular Front, Emma Fourreau.
“On July 7, no vote for these dirty fascists,” she writes on the X platform.
Since the start of the legislative campaign, several National Rally candidates have withdrawn from the race due to racist or anti-Semitic remarks. The candidate for Morbihan, Joseph Martin, was expelled before the first round because of an anti-Semitic message published in 2018 on social networks.

SportsCristiano Ronaldo missed an 11-meter penalty in the 105th minute in the duel against Slovenia, as his shot was stopped by goalkeeper Oblak. However, fortunately for him, the Portuguese star managed to celebrate at the end, where his national team triumphed from the penalty spot. CR7 took over the first penalty, but this time he turned it into a goal.
Speaking after the match, Ronaldo said: “I felt sadness, but in the end joy! This is football. I experienced incredible and inexplicable moments, I could have given my team the lead, but I couldn’t. Oblak made an incredible save, I don’t think the penalty was that bad, but I was wrong anyway.
I felt sad, but the most important thing is to enjoy the passage to the next round. The team did an outstanding job and fought very well: Slovenia was well positioned and made it difficult for us. And then our goalkeeper made three wonderful saves”, declared Ronaldo.

TravelA TikTok user has published a video where she shows how the famous Greek island, Santorini, turned out in reality: worse than she thought.
Her video posted on the platform immediately went viral with many commenters voicing their opinions, some of whom agreed with her.
In the photo, the first impression of this Greek island is white houses with blue domes, a stunning view of the sea horizon, beautiful sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets.
However, Tera Scott said that was not the case in reality and that Santorini turned out completely differently.
In her video she expressed her bitter experience.
“What Santorini looks like in reality. Lots of people, there’s donkey poop on the street. A large part of people are ‘pushed’ to take pictures in certain areas until the blue dome of the houses is not as much as I thought”, said the influencer.
Many commentators have shared their opinions, of which they confirmed that this was true, but there were also those who said that a more suitable time should be found to go there.
“Imagine the people who actually live there,” one user commented.

TechnologySocial media giant Meta has sparked controversy recently with new policies around user data collection.
Ahead of the launch of its new AI tools, the company has informed Instagram and Facebook users that it will soon start collecting data (including photos and posts) to train its AI systems.
However, it’s not just social media users who will be affected. In a move expected to cause tension, Meta is informing people that they could end up having their data processed, even if they don’t use its services.
But is there a way to exempt yourself from these controversial rules?
There are ways you can try to avoid having your data collected. As required by GDPR, Meta is allowing users to object to the use of their information in this way.
To do this, you can fill out a short form on the Instagram website, which asks for the reasons why you want to opt out, along with some personal information such as your place of residence and email.
Meta says it will “consider objection requests in accordance with relevant data protection laws” and will honor successful complaints “ongoing”.
But here’s the catch: despite your protests, Meta can still use your data to train its AI in some cases, regardless of whether you use its platforms or not.
This will affect you if you appear or are mentioned in posts or photos shared by Instagram and Facebook users.

SportsAlbania will start its journey to Euro 2024 in 10 days, where it will seek to make a performance worthy of the expectation it has created after the qualifying phase that finished first in its group.
It will be a little different in Europe, also due to the fact that the red and black have fallen into the “group of hell” as it is called by everyone, that B, where Spain, Italy and Croatia are next to them.
A trio of teams that have no small claims to reach the final stages of this tournament.
The prediction of how Albania’s tournament could be was given by the supercomputer of the statistics giant, “OPTA”.
Through a sophisticated data program, the entire tournament has been simulated 10,000 times and the percentages of every possible variant of its conclusion have been determined, of course, including Albania in every calculation.
According to the supercomputer, the biggest possibility is for Albania to finish the group in last place, as this happens in 56.4% of cases.
The third place of the Reds and Blacks is in 25.7% of the cases, the second place in 12.3% and the first place in the group is 5.6%.
In the simulation of qualification in the phase with direct elimination, Albania’s chances of going to the round of 16 are 33.4%. The percentage drops to 11.6 for quarter-final qualification and 3.2 for semi-finals.
The Reds have a 0.8% chance of reaching the final of the tournament and only a 0.2% chance of winning Euro 2024.

SportsNovak Djokovic submits.
The Serbian tennis player “raised the white flag” and withdrew from Roland Garros due to a knee injury, simultaneously surrendering the first place in the ATP rankings.
Serbia hands over the first place in the ranking to the Italian talent Jannick Sinner, who is impressing with his performances this year.
Despite Sinner’s performance in the remainder of the French tournament, the Italian will take Djokovic’s place, as the Serbian needed to reach the Roland Garros final to retain the lead.
This is undoubtedly a great achievement for the 22-year-old Sinner, who thus makes his dream come true, climbing to the top of the tennis rankings for the first time in history.
