TechnologyApple will permanently delete an album of photos from your iPhone next month. However, there is a way not to lose them forever.
The tech giant has announced that it will “retire” My Photo Stream, an album that automatically saves photos taken in the last 30 days.
As a result, My Photo Stream stopped uploading photos on June 26th, and everything in that folder will be lost when the album is deleted on July 26th.
“My Photo Stream will end on July 26, 2023,” Apple explains on its website.
“As part of this transition, new photos uploaded to My Photo Stream from your device will stop uploading one month in advance, on June 26, 2023.”
If a specific photo you don’t want to lose isn’t in the library of the iPhone, iPad, or Mac you’re using, you should make sure to save it to the device’s library.
Apple users have expressed concern about the disappearance of this album on social networks.
“It seems to me that Apple photo stream is gone. I lost a lot of photos,ā wrote one of them.Introduced by Steve Jobs in 2011, My Photo Stream is a free service that automatically uploads over 1,000 photos from the past 30 days.

EntertainmentNetflix customers have been horrified by an Australian horror film starring actress Sarah Snook.
“Run Rabbit Run” began to be shown on June 28, and after two days, the complaints of those who have seen it, which they consider very disturbing, have started.
“I was watching ‘Run Rabbit Run’ and my heart was breaking. I stopped it in half”, writes a Twitter user.
Another adds: “This movie is making me cringeā¦”.While many others had complaints about the way the movie “Run Rabbit Run” ends. The topic of motherhood has long provided the horror genre with some of its greatest stories. From āRosemaryās Babyā to āThe Babadook,ā there is something inherently scary about watching your beloved child be overtaken by evil forces or reckoning with the idea that becoming a parent makes us vulnerable to just about every terrible thing in our world (and beyond). InĀ Daina Reidās new film āRun Rabbit Run,ā fertility doctor Sarah (Sarah Snook) meets these tensions head-on when her precocious seven-year-old daughter Mia (Lily LaTorre) begins to claim sheās actually Alice, Sarahās sister who disappeared when she was Miaās age.Ā
Reidās ghost story uses innocuous objects to emphasize the filmās sense of unease. First, Mia shows up with a white fluffy rabbit and quickly becomes obsessed with it, to the point where she begins wearing a self-made pink rabbit mask. The bunny, which she names Rabbit, ominously hops around the house, a harbinger of the bad things still to come. When Sarah tries to get rid of Rabbit, it bites her, the first of many injuries she will incur as she spirals over memories of her missing sister, her estranged mother, and her recently departed father. The filmās conflict is centered between mother Sarah, and daughter Mia, but it also includes a thorny relationship with Sarahās mother, Joan (Greta Scacchi), creating a cycle of guilt from childhood sins and feeling like sheās not doing enough for her kid.
Rabbit is not the only troubling thing inĀ Hannah Kentās script. In setting up Sarahās narrative, Kent shows the audience how much Sarahās been pushed to the brink even before anything unexplained begins. Sheās divorced and co-parenting with her ex-husband, Pete (Damon Herriman), who has moved on and is starting a new family of his own. Sarah is also dealing with the death of her dad, his things are still piled up in her garage, still to be sorted through. And then thereās her mother, an ominous figure also losing her memories to dementia. When Miaās problems escalate, she first tries to be the strong parent doing whatās right for her child, but then, she starts to hurt herself in the process and by extension, hurts Mia.Ā
In a marvelous departure from her best-known role as Shiv Roy in āSuccession,ā Snook brings her character a motherly sense of care and duty. Sheās attentive and affectionate in ways many of us havenāt seen her. Her calm, collected demeanor quickly erodes in the face of uncertainty and stress. Snookās attention and care for LaTorreās Mia are deeply felt, and their bond is evident from the first scene when the mother wakes up her daughter with a birthday gift. LaTorre looks at Snook with large expressive eyes that shift from confused and scared when sheās inexplicably bleeding to burning with rage when she screams that sheās actually Alice. But in moments of Miaās clarity, LaTorre runs to Snook and embraces her tightly for safety, establishing the close relationship between the pair early on, giving us a sense of what will be lost once Rabbit enters the frame.Ā
Sarahās descent into madness mirrors the haunting landscape of the filmās setting in Waikerie, Australia. There ate windswept horizons, imposing cliffs, stormy clouds over luscious green hills, flutters of birds flying in droves by her old home, and what looks like trees sprouting out of a purple river. The film wallows in a weatherbeaten palette, with lots of pale yellows and dusty grays in the daytime. At night, darkness takes over, and even well-lit homes and cozy bedrooms start to feel unsafe. Cinematographer Bonnie Elliot carefully plays with these moods to create a visual sense of Sarahās spiral. The filmās aesthetic becomes increasingly erratic as she loses her grip on reality. When Sarah goes in and out of a dreamlike state, images may look hazy or disorienting in their closeup, then harshly come into focus when she returns to reality. When Sarah starts to lose control, Snook physically takes her character to that dark place, but the filmās camera immerses the viewer in her unease.
Motherhood, like extreme moments of grief, can be among the most life-changing experiencesāa clear demarcation of life before and after the event. Sometimes, it can also be coupled with extreme feelings of isolation, which in this horror movie, makes a person vulnerable to the ghosts of their past. āRun Rabbit Runā is a solid, spooky tale without anything too flashy like a Babadook to haunt our dreams and memes but chilling enough to make us sit up in our chairs and scan the screen for the next sign of danger. While a fluffy white rabbit may symbolize innocence, it leads Sarah down a nightmarish version of āAlice in Wonderland.ā The mothers in this film are haunted by the mistakes they made. Joan never seemed to have recovered from Aliceās disappearance, and Sarahās barely buried trauma resurfaces her own feelings of regret over failing her daughter. And once Sarah is through the looking glass, are she and Mia safe? Are any of us?

USAA man indicted for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 riots was arrested Thursday at gunpoint in his van near former President Barack Obama’s residence, according to a law enforcement official.
Taylor Taranto, 37, was arrested on a warrant, authorities said. D.C. police said he has been charged as a fugitive from justice, though they did not specify the underlying details of the case.
The official who described the weapons found did so on condition of anonymity because the investigation remains ongoing, including Taranto’s motives.
The arrest occurred around 2 p.m. in the 2400 block of Kalorama Road NW, when Secret Service officers located Taranto and detained him, according to D.C. police deputy director of communications. Paris Lewbel.
D.C. police then sent a specialized unit to conduct a sweep of Taranto’s van, which was found near the scene of his arrest.
The police department said in a statement that “there is no active threat to the community and this incident remains under investigation.” It was unclear whether the Obama family was home at the time.
The lawsuit against Taranto and another man was filed in 2021 by Erin Smith, the wife of D.C. police officer Jeffrey Smith, whose suicide nine days after the riots was declared a death in the line of duty.
In the civil suit, attorneys for the Smith family said Taranto gave the other man, David Walls-Kaufman, leverage. Walls-Kaufman then used the gun to hit Smith in the face, according to court documents.
Taranto, who is representing himself in court, has categorically denied the allegations in court documents. Walls-Kaufman was also charged criminally with trespassing and disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to two months in jail.
Police said Thursday that the 37-year-old man had no fixed address. Taranto said in court filings that he was a resident of Washington state.

PoliticsCambodia’s leader Hun Sen has quit Facebook and threatened to block it in his country after the platform’s oversight board recommended he be suspended for six months.
Hun Sen had called for violence against his political opponents in a video in January which was viewed 600,000 times.
His move comes days before he launches a re-election campaign to extend his 38-year-long rule.
Hun Sen was a prolific Facebook user and his page had 14 million followers.
After he left the platform on Thursday, he also threatened to block Facebook in the country.
Talking to garment workers in Pursat province on Friday, he warned he could at any time block the platform “for a short period or forever” to prevent exiled opposition politicians from talking to the country’s citizens.
“Don’t be arrogant, you guys are staying overseas, you are using Facebook for communications, we could block Facebook,” he threatened in comments aimed at opponents.
Hun Sen urged Cambodians to migrate to other social media platforms, including Telegram and TikTok, which he has moved to.
Before he quit Facebook, Hun Sen had built up a following of about 800,000 users on Telegram which is a commonly used channel in Cambodian politics. Critics say the 69-year-old leader’s massive social media reach has been due in part to bots or fake accounts.
Facebook parent Meta’s Oversight Board on Thursday recommended his suspension for six months over an earlier video, posted in January. It overturned an earlier decision by Facebook to keep the video live, citing “newsworthiness”.
“Given the severity of the violation, Hun Sen’s history of committing human rights violations and intimidating political opponents, as well as his strategic use of social media to amplify such threats, the Board calls on Meta to immediately suspend Hun Sen’s Facebook page and Instagram account for six months,” the Board said in a statement.
In the video, Hun Sen threatened opposition leaders against accusing his party of vote theft in elections due to be held in July.
“Either you face legal action in court, or I rally [Cambodian People’s Party] people for a demonstration and beat you up,” he said.
Soon after the Oversight Board’s decision was announced, Hun Sen said he had asked an assistant to delete his Facebook account.
Hun Sen has served as Cambodian Prime Minister for more than 38 years, and is one of the longest-serving political leaders in the world. His rule has been dogged with allegations of human rights abuses, and he has also been accused of decimating all political opposition ahead of the July vote.
In May, Cambodia’s electoral body disqualified his sole credible challenger, the Candlelight Party, citing a lack of appropriate paperwork.
And earlier in March, opposition leader Kem Sokha was sentenced to 27 years house arrest for treason, a charge that he denies.
Hun Sen’s exit from Facebook is his way of pre-empting the Meta board’s suspension, says Sebastian Strangio, author of the book “Hun Sen’s Cambodia”.
Mr Strangio told the AFP news agency that Hun Sen’s decision to move to TikTok and Telegram also reflects Cambodia’s broader foreign policy pivot to China and Russia.
TikTok’s parent, ByteDance, is based in Beijing while Telegram was founded in Russia, where it is widely used by the public and even the Kremlin.
“Based on their track record, it is much less likely that these two platforms will restrict Hun Sen from using them as he sees fit, including as a vehicle for baiting, goading, and threatening his opponents,” Mr Strangio said.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) described Hun Sen’s departure from the world’s largest social media platform as an overdue “face-off between Big Tech and a dictator over human rights issues”.
“The stakes are high because plenty of real world harm is caused when an authoritarian uses social media to incite violence — as we have already seen far too many times in Cambodia,” said HRW Deputy Asia Director Phil Robertson.
Hun Sen’s threat to block Facebook has already sparked reaction in Cambodia, where the social media site is seen as the main platform for online activity ranging from political discussions to e-commerce.
“If Facebook is blocked, ties with the West will worsen. Bad officials will be happy,” one Facebook user wrote.

TravelRegardless of whether you are a Game of Thrones fan, Dubrovnik is a favorite tourist destination. But if you’re heading to this tourist-friendly town in Croatia this summer, think about the luggage you’ll be carrying.
Thanks to new rules, visitors to Dubrovnik’s Old Town are banned from dragging wheeled suitcases along its streets, meaning you’ll have no choice but to carry your own bags.
This decision was proposed by the mayor, Mato Frankovic, who said it was an attempt to curb noise pollution, as the local population was tired of being woken up at night by the sound of travelers banging their suitcases on the cobblestone streets. And those caught dragging their suitcases on wheels could face a hefty fine of ā¬265.
In fact, according to the mayor, these rules are “just the beginning”. From November, the local government hopes to solve the problem of suitcases in Dubrovnik with a concerted effort, introducing a system according to which bags will be deposited outside the city and transported to the accommodation by courier.

TechnologyWith the rapid progress of technology, it seems that many people, especially young people, have turned to the “online” job market, considering themselves masters of their own work.
R.Z, an architect by profession, together with her colleague V. B, have been working as “freelancers” for a year, offering their services to foreign clients on online platforms. Furnishing a hotel in Germany is the biggest project they have undertaken.
Beyond flexible hours, good payments are some of the reasons that lead these young people to offer their services on platforms where businesses connect with freelancers all over the world, for small or long-term jobs and projects.
The Covid-19 pandemic turned into a major source for online employment beyond a fixed 8-hour job. A regional report by “Gigmetar” showed that in October last year, over 6,200 Albanians were employed online. Albania was ranked second after North Macedonia, in 8 countries of the region for the number of online employees in relation to the population.
While it seems like an easy procedure to sign up and earn money, do the benefits of online jobs take time to reach satisfactory payouts?
“Normally, we encountered some difficulties at the beginning. Many applications, almost 80%, were negative, but we kept going until we got the first projects”, says R. Z.
The report shows that Albania recorded the largest increase in employment on these platforms in 2022. While in other countries these employees are taxed, in Albania are young people willing to pay taxes for this type of work?
V.B answers: “We are taxed in a certain way. If you do a job, the platform itself keeps 10-20% depending on the project. “Calculating the tax for the state, my profit will decrease a lot.”
Linkedin, Upwork, Guru and Fiver are some of the most widespread platforms for “freelancers” who do not require degrees, but practical knowledge.

SportsThe Czech government said it has banned all athletes representing Russia from participating in local competitions because of the Russian occupation of Ukraine.
In its statement, it is stated that the Czech Government prohibits “the participation of individual athletes and sports teams representing the Russian Federation in sports competitions and games organized on Czech soil.”
Likewise, athletes and teams representing the Czech Republic should not participate in competitions held in Russia.
This decision was taken at the request of the Czech sports associations.
Previously, Czech ice hockey players competing in the Russia-based Kontinental Hockey League could not play for the Czech national team.
But the current ban will apply to all sports and athletes competing under the Russian and Czech flags.
There is still no information whether this ban will also affect Belarusian athletes.
The Czech Olympic Committee stated earlier this year that it was opposed to allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics under a neutral flag.
The Czech Republic, a member state of the European Union and NATO, has provided Ukraine with significant military and humanitarian aid since Russia launched its invasion of its neighbor in February 2022.

SportsTwo government decisions, which are directly related to football. The Italian government approved measures that do not allow the use of the number 88 on jerseys from the new season, as well as the suspension of matches for anti-Semitic chants.
The law was signed by the Italian interior minister, Matteo Piantedosi, and is included in measures to combat anti-Semitism, signed on 27 August.
Starting next season, Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic and Lazio’s Toma Basic must change the numbers on their backs. 88 is used by neo-Nazi groups as a sign of respect for Adolf Hitler. The letter H is the eighth in the German alphabet, the 88th translates to two H’s, which then translates to the Nazi salute.
In the past this number was held by Gianluigi Buffon at Parma. The legendary goalkeeper changed it after only a few friendly matches, precisely to avoid any hypothetical connection with extremist groups. Controversies were not absent at that time, where Mateusz Praszelik, Marco Borriello and Rincon were among the accused.
In addition to banning the number 88, in the Italian Serie A the law of stopping matches also comes into force if anti-Semitic chants are made in the stands. Fans are prohibited from using symbols reminiscent of Nazism, and must not use discriminatory language.

TravelBesides tourism, there are people who go to Venice for what is called the “alm business.” According to the Italian media, it is about people from Eastern Europe who earn from 500 to 1,000 euros in a few days.
The only expense these visitors have to bear is the low-cost bus ticket that takes them from their home countries to Venice. The city, increasingly surrounded by tourists, must also deal with the management of these flows.
The cheap trips to earn money by alms, writes “Messenger”, began to increase with the spread of the word by local beggars who were the first to see that they could earn well.
The city’s proximity to the border with Eastern Europe makes the destination even more attractive, especially since the Serenissima is now surrounded by tourists 12 months a year.
Beggars spend a few days in the city and then return home with the money earned on the street. During their stay in the city, they go to canteens where some associations give them food and provide them with a bed to sleep.
For purification, before returning home, they go to the public fountains.
