TechnologySometimes it seems that no matter how much you keep your cell phones charging, they don’t get enough battery power.
Many people are forced to move around with chargers to prevent their cell phones from dying while they are running errands.
iPhone users seem to have this problem more as it is reported that there may be a hidden culprit behind the battery drain.
The so-called ‘vampire option’ technology that siphons off your Apple device’s power may be an internet connection saver called ‘Wi-Fi Assist’.
Although this is supposed to strengthen your signal, it seems to be more of a hindrance than a help.
Wi-Fi Assist is supposed to fill the gap when the internet connection becomes slow so that the user does not experience interruptions in their connection.
Apple’s official website writes: “For example, if you’re using Safari with a weak Wi-Fi connection, the Wi-Fi Assist option enables automatic page downloads,” writes the LadBible network.
But while the option is useful, it greatly affects your battery life.
But there’s also good news as you can turn off Wi-Fi Assist and extend your battery life.
In addition, Wi-Fi Assist can also copy your personal data when you think you’re safely on a Wi-Fi network, which also drains your battery without you realizing it.
For this, experts suggest going to the main parameters ‘Settings’ on the iPhone, and from there go to ‘Mobile Data’. You have to scroll down the page and you will find the ‘Wi-Fi Assist’ option which you can turn off if you want.
This may cause interruptions in your Wi-Fi connections but will make your battery last much longer.
‘As long as you live you will learn’, the experts jokingly suggest.

SportsIt is not for nothing that he is considered one of the greatest talents that the sport of tennis has known. The Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz, has once again shown his potential, as he passed without much difficulty, in the round of 1/8, of the first Grand Slam for this calendar year, “Australian Open”, the Serbian, Miomir Kecmanovic , defeating him with a clean score of 3 to 0.

SportsThe match between Udinese and Milan has been “tarnished” by the Maignan case, with the red and black goalkeeper subjected to racist insults by someone present in the Friulian stadium. Maignan then recounted the episode on Dazn’s mics shortly after the match ended:
“We won and that’s positive, but in the first half something happened that shouldn’t have happened. Some home fans made the monkey noise, it’s not the first time. The referee should have understood the situation, now let him make the right statements in the prosecutor. I didn’t want to play anymore, but we are a family and I couldn’t leave my teammates.”
Maignan said he had a short conversation with Ibrahimovic after what happened: “He told me to stay strong in my head, give the right answer and win the game.” The red and black goalkeeper then continued:
“We are a family, I felt the support of everyone. We are here to play football, to give everything for our fans, to put on a show. I was also upset to go to the dressing room like that, but I had the support of everyone. We talked and decided to go back to the field to give the right answer.”
Udinese promises a strong reaction
“The regulation provides for suspension for a limited duration, but the club can decide to exclude those fans from the stadium for a longer period of time. We will work to exclude them from the stadium forever, forever”.
Through the words of Franco Collavino, general manager of Udinese, the club in question announces that the people who insulted Mike Maignan, the goalkeeper of Milan, in the match on Saturday evening, will suffer badly.
The Udinese manager then explained what happened in the last 24 hours and what will happen now: “We are convinced to look for those responsible, it could be only two or three people. It’s one, two, three miserable and that’s enough to make it a very serious thing.
We have already started watching the footage from the stadium cameras, we should also listen to the audio. In our stadium, inside and outside, there are over 300 cameras. We have a lot of work to do in a very short time to see all the footage of the case”.
Maignan said: “Anyone who does nothing will be an accomplice.” Collavino supports him: “He is right, but we moved too far ahead of his words. Already, in the first half of the match, we got in touch with the police to start looking for those people we don’t want among us.
In general, we operate ticket policies that encourage the presence of families in the stadium, of which there are many. We send our footballers to schools to make children aware of the issue of racism”.
A message to the goalkeeper of Milan: “I want to tell him that we are very sorry for what happened, we express our solidarity. Udinese has always been an example of a multi-ethnic and multicultural society, an example of coexistence and tolerance.
We have always had a higher number of colored players than the Italian average and indeed, after Bosman’s decision to open the borders in 1995, we were criticized for this as well, because we had many footballers of different nationalities and few Italians. The last 30 years speak for us, they are in front of everyone’s eyes”.

TechnologyIn the future, Instagram will notify minors not to use the platform at night
The Instagram platform sends an automatic message to its users aged 13 to 18, asking them not to use the social network between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
“Sleep is important, especially for young people, so we’re launching new evening messages that will appear when teens spend more than 10 minutes on Instagram, when they’re watching Reels or late-night direct messages.
This will remind teens that it’s late and encourage them to turn off the app,” Meta said in a statement.
Young people will get the message “It’s late. Consider turning off Instagram at night” on their profile from 10 p.m. if they use certain functions on the social network.
According to information from Instagram, these notifications do not force young people to respect them, and those who do not declare their real age when opening a profile can avoid them completely.

TechnologyMany users have complained in recent weeks that YouTube has slowed down and videos are loading slowly even though they have no internet problems.
Many wrote in the comments that they noticed that YouTube slowed down if they used ad blockers and advised others to disable them.
Many people blamed Google for the problem with ad blockers, however, it turned out that the problem was caused by AdBlock, namely the latest update for Adblock Plus, version 5.17.0 to be exact.
Adblock Plus developers have identified the problem as a performance regression in their GitLab repository, and users experiencing problems with Adblock and Adblock Plus services on YouTube and other platforms are advised to update their add-ons.
We recall that in November of last year, theories were spread that Google is deliberately slowing down YouTube in Mozilla Firefox, while it works without problems in Chrome. Google denied those rumors and blamed installed ad blockers.

Business Technology USASpotify has launched an outspoken attack on new transaction fees of up to 27% being levied by Apple in the US.
On Wednesday, Apple announced it would permit app developers to sell products in places other than its own store – but only if they still paid commission.
Spotify said that was “outrageous” and accused Apple of “stopping at nothing” to protect its profits. It is urging the British government to prevent similar fees being levied in the UK.
Apple has been approached for comment.
The firm introduced the fees in the US as a result of a long-running legal battle with Fortnite developer Epic Games.
The court found in favour of Apple on multiple issues, but it fell foul of a law by not allowing app developers to tell people about other ways of paying, including through links that bypass Apple’s own App Store payment system.
Apple charges the biggest developers a 30% fee to use this system, though smaller developers pay around 15%, and 85% of developers don’t pay a fee at all.
As a result of the ruling, Apple has introduced a new set of rules in the US which will allow people to subscribe to services without using its system, but it will charge developers up to a 27% commission to do so.
According to court documents filed by the firm, it said the commission charge was compliant with the court ruling, adding that App Store developers benefit from Apple’s services.
“All App Store developers – including those who place buttons or links with calls to action in their apps – benefit from (among other things) Apple’s platform integrity,” it said in the filings.
It also listed other benefits developers receive, including: “marketing and external advertising, and a safe environment for users to download and purchase apps and in-app content.”
Spotify has reacted with fury, saying the policy “flies in the face” of the US court’s attempt to enable greater competition.
“Once again, Apple has demonstrated that they will stop at nothing to protect the profits they exact on the backs of developers and consumers under their app store monopoly,” it said in a statement.
Spotify has a history of attacking Apple over its fees. In October 2023 it accused it of having an “insane” level of control over the internet.
Now, it says the UK government should intervene.
“The UK’s Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer Bill must put an end to this false posturing, which is essentially a recreation of Apple’s fees.
“We strongly urge UK lawmakers to pass the bill swiftly to prevent Apple from implementing similar fees, which will help create a more competitive and innovative tech industry for UK consumers and businesses.”
The Government put forward its digital markets bill last year aimed at curbing the power of the tech giants.
The bill would empower authorities to “consider targeted measures” regarding app store transactions to maintain open and competitive digital markets, a spokesperson for the Government told the BBC.
However, the spokesperson declined to say if authorities would intervene in Apple’s case after the bill passes.
“It is not for us to comment on specific cases,” the person said.
