LifeStyle TechnologyMore than one in 10 people in Germany, or 11%, has been a victim of identity theft online, according to a survey conducted by the opinion research institute YouGov.
In the online survey, which took place at the beginning of March, a total of 2,058 people were questioned.
The results were based on the opinions of representatives of the German population aged 18 and over.
The study describes identity theft as a type of fraud.
Criminals use data such as name, date of birth, address or credit card or account numbers of their victims to create user accounts with online services and make purchases or enter into contracts at someone else’s expense.
“Victims usually realize this only when it is too late and transfers have been posted to the account or bills have arrived,” the study said.
Many cybercriminals are currently taking advantage of Germany’s tight housing market.
For example, people looking for a flat are being tricked by a false advertisement to complete a postal identification procedure for an application for a purported viewing of the flat.
Those affected often do not realize that they are simply helping fraudsters open a bank account in their name that will be used for criminal purposes, such as cleaning money.
“Although the risk is increasing, many people are obviously still taking the issue lightly,” said a spokeswoman for the initiative.

Culture EntertainmentWe all grew up with the famous animated series “Tom and Jerry”, a cat and a mouse who have a great “hate” towards each other.
“Tom and Jerry” has accompanied every family and is the most popular animated series ever.
But, a conspiracy theory related to this series has circulated widely on the Internet and has awakened the greatest curiosity among people. This theory completely changes the view of what we have been thinking and that it does not convey the enmity between the cat and the mouse.
According to this theory, it was said that Tom and Jerry don’t actually hate each other; even Tom has a very big love for his friend who lives in the house.
To protect Jerry, Tom actually pretends to hate him and chases him home in front of the landlady, but with no intention of killing him.
They did this so that the owner would be fully aware that Tom hates Jerry, so she would not take steps to bring another cat into the house to catch Jerry.

SportsGeorgia has written history, as it has qualified for the European for the first time in history.
The Georgians eliminated Greece, after penalty kicks.
The 120 minutes played in “Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena (Tbilisi)” ended without goals, while everything was decided after penalties. The first half was very cautious, with both teams afraid of conceding a goal.
In the first 45 minutes, the Greeks never hit the goal defended by Giorgi Mamardashvili, while Sagnol’s team scored 1 shot in the box.
The second half didn’t produce a goal either, with the teams heading to extra time. Even the extra 30 minutes did not change the result, as the fate of the qualification was decided after the execution of the penalty.
In the European Championship in Germany, Georgia will be part of Group F together with Turkey, Portugal and the Czech Republic.

USA What's HotChildren under 14 will be banned from using social media in Florida starting next year.
Signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the legislation requires social media companies to delete the accounts of people under 14.
Children aged 14 and 15 will also need parental consent before signing up to platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat.
Companies that fail to delete accounts risk being sued on behalf of children, up to $10,000 (£7,908) – and can also be fined up to $50,000 (£39,538) for breaking the law.
It is set to take effect in Florida from January next year, but challenges are expected from companies who claim it violates the US constitution.

Politics USAThe US and UK have accused China of a cyber conspiracy that has hit many US lawmakers, academics, journalists and many others. The news was announced by the Department of Justice and the FBI. Seven Chinese are accused of orchestrating this widespread campaign of deliberate cyber attacks, according to US and British law enforcement authorities.
The operation allegedly went on for more than a decade. The seven allegedly sent over 10,000 “emails affecting thousands of victims” in what the Justice Department called a “global hacking operation” backed by the Chinese government. “Today’s announcement exposes China’s ongoing efforts to undermine our nation’s cybersecurity. As long as China continues to target the US and our partners, the FBI will continue to send a clear message that cyber espionage will not be tolerated, said Christopher Wray, FBI Director.
The Chinese embassy in London said it “strongly opposes” the allegations, calling them “completely fabricated and malicious defamation”. As for the claims made in the US, the Chinese embassy in Washington DC has yet to respond.
Tensions between Beijing and Washington over issues related to cyber espionage have risen as Western intelligence agencies have increasingly sounded the alarm over suspected Chinese state-backed hacker activity. US companies were hacked by people who allegedly targeted the defense, information technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, trade, finance, consulting, legal and research industries. Targeted companies included defense contractors that provide services to the US military and “a leading provider of 5G network equipment”.

SportsSuper guest of the Portimão Grand Prix in Portugal, José Mourinho, was preparing to wave the checkered flag at the finish line of yesterday’s MotoGP race. As he waited for the green light to fulfill a special role on the occasion of the second race of the MotoGP season, the “Special One” did not shy away from a comment about his future: “At the moment zero, zero news. I don’t have a club, I’m free, but I want to work. I want to work in the summer”.
The 61-year-old Portuguese coach continued the dialogue with the journalists present at the “Autodromo Internacional do Algarve” and did not rule out the possibility of returning as coach of a Portuguese club, after his experiences at Benfica, União de Leiria and Porto: “Never say never , especially in football. My life is football, I can train anywhere. I do not have any problem”.
Mourinho spoke of his departure from Roma: “Sacking? It’s hard to understand how a coach who reaches two European finals in a row can leave. That’s the only strange thing.” Then the Portuguese coach responded to Tiago Pinto’s last statements:
“Mr. Tiago Pinto’s interview? Honestly, I don’t waste a second reading or listening to them, I don’t care at all. I have no interest. Will he work with me again? No, of course not. Sometimes things make us think that nothing is impossible, but in this case it is not possible.”
The former Roma coach dwelt on the future: “What if I miss Italy? I miss work. I love football, but it’s the end of March and no team is going to make changes. I’ll have to wait until the summer . If I can return to Italy? I will return to football, it doesn’t matter where.”

Culture LifeStyle Trending What's HotA twinkling moon will shine through Monday with a celestial performance predicted for humans, a partial lunar eclipse.
March’s full moon, dubbed the “Worm Moon” by the Farmers’ Almanac because of its proximity to the vernal equinox, will be at its peak at 3am.
A few hours earlier, starting at 12:53 p.m., according to EarthSky, the moon will be almost perfectly aligned with the sun and Earth.
“The greatest eclipse will be at 3:12 a.m., when the moon will appear slightly darker than usual. It will be almost a gradient of darkening that will occur from one side of the moon to the other. It won’t be a super dramatic change in what we see on the Moon. But if you’re sitting there looking at it, you might notice some slight changes in brightness,” said Dr. Shannon Schmoll, director of the Abrams Planetarium at Michigan State University, according to CNN.
The “Worm Moon,” named by Native American tribes for the beetle larvae and other creatures that emerge from hibernation in the spring, will be visible to everyone around the world as the moon will appear full for some day.
“However, the penumbral eclipse will only be visible to those on the night side of the Earth when the event occurs, including Europe, North and East Asia, Australia, Africa, North America and South America. The lunar eclipse will end at 5:33 am,” EarthSky reports.
What to Expect During April’s Total Solar Eclipse
The eclipse comes about two weeks before a total solar eclipse that will pass over Mexico, the United States and Canada on April 8. Lunar and solar eclipses always come in pairs because of the period when the sun, Earth, and moon line up.
According to NASA, “eclipse season” is the roughly 35-day period that occurs every six months, near the equinoxes, when the three celestial bodies necessary for eclipses are in near-perfect alignment.
A lunar eclipse does not occur every month during every full moon because the moon’s orbital plane is tilted by about 5 degrees, so for most full moons the Earth’s shadow will be slightly below or above the moon.
While a partial lunar eclipse is not as dramatic as a total lunar eclipse with the moon appearing an eerie red, no special equipment is required to view a lunar eclipse such as the viewing glasses required for a solar eclipse allowing for lunar eclipses , to be seen with the naked eye.
“You just have to be outside with a clear view of the moon when that happens. “Eclipses are always a good excuse to go outside and try to look at the sky and appreciate where we are in the universe and what we are able to observe from our planet,” said the researcher.

Breaking News Technology What's HotThe Supreme Court in Spain has blocked the messaging app, Telegram. The decision came after a complaint by media organizations that the platform was allowing users to upload material without their permission. Spaniards have been left without access to the app at least for now after the Supreme Court ordered something like this as a precaution.
The country’s four largest media groups, Mediaset, Atresmedia, Movistar and Edega, complained that the app was distributing copyrighted content created by them without authorization.
Telegram is the fourth most used messaging application in Spain, and as of Monday, it will no longer be available to citizens. The judge in the case requested that the company that owns the application send information within this file. But Telegram did not respond to Santiago Pedraz’s demands and the latter ordered the application to be blocked.
As the international media write, this decision is temporary and will last only a few days. Many app users criticized the decision. However, the judge said that the decision came as a result of the company’s lack of cooperation.
Spain is not the only country that has blocked Telegram. The first to disable it was China in 2015 after it faced too many messages opposing the communist regime. For the same reasons, countries such as Thailand, Pakistan, Iran and Cuba have taken such a decision.

LifeStyle USA What's HotFor 59-year-old Victor Sharrah, the terrible symptoms began one winter evening in Nashville, Tennessee. “As soon as I woke up, I sat on the couch and started watching TV. When my friend entered the room I was horrified by what I saw. Then his girlfriend came in and her face looked just as scary to me,” Sharrah told CNN.
The faces that had been friendly to him until that day seemed distorted, with elongated eyes and fearful markings. If he saw them in profile, their ears looked pointed. “I tried to explain to them, but they thought I was crazy,” says Sharrah. “Then I went outside and everyone’s faces looked like that.”
What Sharrah would later learn was that he hadn’t suddenly started seeing patterns, but had a rare health problem called “prosopometamorphosis”, which caused him to see people’s faces in a distorted form. But strangely the objects and other parts of the human body seemed unchanged to him.
“I helped create a two-dimensional picture to explain to others so they could understand exactly what I see. But what I see is a moving face, not a picture.
According to medical records all over the world, other people who suffer from this vision distortion, people’s faces appear like dragons or fish heads, in some cases the eyes seem to pop out of place.
“The woman who saw dragons started seeing them as a child, so we still have a lot to learn about this deformity,” says Brad Duchaine, professor of psychological and neurological sciences at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Only 81 such cases are known in the world, but there are probably many others that have not been made public, says Duchaine, author of the study on this phenomenon, published in the magazine “Lancet”.
Because there is little information about the condition, people who suffer from it are often diagnosed with schizophrenia or as having hallucinations and given the wrong therapies, experts say. In addition, people who have this deformity in vision may later develop brain tumors or various infections.
