If you’ve ever noticed a small green light in the top corner of your Android phone, it could be a signal that you’re being watched or eavesdropped.

That dot is an indication that an app you have installed on your phone is using your phone’s sensors, microphone, or camera.

Usually, that light isn’t something you need to worry about, but if you suspect you’re being spied on, you should act immediately.

According to Jamie Akhtar, CEO of CyberSmart, the green light comes because we have given permission to some apps to use the microphone or camera. But, if you don’t use any application and still the light comes on in the upper corner of the mobile phone, here’s what we have to do.

Go to the “permissions” section of “Settings” and check the application permissions. You may have allowed apps that you no longer use to use your microphone or camera. If this is not the case, then your mobile may have been hacked. In this case you should change important passwords (email), but not on your mobile, on another device. After that, you have to reset the phone all over again,” explains Akhtar.
