Donald Trump is shot with a live weapon, he leaves covered in blood by security guards
The candidate for President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, was shot during his campaign in Pennsylvania.
A bullet seems to have caught him in his right ear, while bodyguards immediately moved in to protect him.
Photo obtained by CNN shows a bloodied Trump. Gunshots were reportedly heard before Trump fell to the ground. He was then picked up by Secret Service operatives and left the podium.
The former president’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, told the media that Trump is being checked at a local hospital and thanked law enforcement for their quick intervention.
Even though he was shot, Trump wanted not to hide, but with the words “wait a second” to the bodyguards, he appeared in front of the public raising his hand, as if to say that he is invincible.
The Secret Service said in a preliminary statement that Trump is now safe and that the incident is being investigated by them.
The gunman who shot former President Trump and a supporter of the Republican candidate have reportedly died in Pennsylvania.
Citing the local district attorney, the Washington Post reports that Donald Trump was wounded by gunfire while a supporter of his is suspected to have lost his life.
“Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger tells me Trump was shot, but it’s safe. An audience member was killed and the attacker died. Another person is in a serious condition,” said the prosecutor.
