The US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly approved the law that paves the way for a possible ban on the use of the social network TikTok in the United States.
With today’s vote, the Chinese company “ByteDance” has been given a five-month deadline to prepare the sale of the platform, or else the use of TikTok will be banned in the entire American territory.
The draft law approved today will have to go to the Senate, where some senators have shown they are ready to pass it quickly.
There are approximately 170 million American users who have an active TikTok account, including President Joe Biden. Lawmakers in the US fear that the data of US users of the app will be used by the Chinese government.
