A scandal has erupted again in Russia, where a Russian officers’ club used for high-ranking military funerals was also used for debauched parties involving sex, drugs and alcohol.
The Central House of Officers of the Military District in Yekaterinburg hosts the funerals of high-ranking officers killed during Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine.
But recently released footage appears to show the facility is also used for parties by the so-called Blue Velvet group, which has more than 300 members.
The video shows a sex party at the military facility, with attendees allegedly wearing transparent underwear under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The black and white footage shows a number of women wearing only their underwear and a mask covering their entire head. Some were blindfolded or handcuffed.
The video shows several participants wearing leather harnesses, while another was flogged while leaning on a railing. A source said: They film all their parties and post them on their private social media channels. The essence of the group is to get together, strip, drink and dance.
The city’s attorney general’s office has received complaints after an “erotic party” at the Officers’ House library, where tickets cost between £5-10.
Georgy Podkorytov, the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Officers, was forced to resign for the holidays, saying: I am upset that the Chamber of Officers is involved in the scandal and they are throwing mud at us. I was also involved in this scandal.
“We consider it unacceptable to hold such events in the Officers’ House,” said pro-war activist Ekaterina Ipatova, project coordinator of the Volunteer Company.
“Here they say goodbye to the soldiers who died in the special military operation, in the war in Ukraine. There are nightclubs for parties, but holding them in the officers’ house is blasphemy.”
Among the funerals of fallen Russian officers held at the site in Yekaterinburg was that of prominent war correspondent from the Russian state propaganda media, Rostislav Zhuravlyov, 34.
The funeral ceremony of Senior Lieutenant Denis Yefanov, a volleyball coach who went to fight for Putin, as well as the farewell of Major Rishat Izatulli was also held here.
