EU: Telegram and X the most disinformation platforms

The most popular platforms involved in FIMI-related attacks were Telegram and X, according to a European External Action Service (EEAS) report on FIMI threats, which identifies and analyzes 750 incidents that occurred between December 2022 and November 2023.
“However, this activity was observed on almost all other large, new and special platforms”, the EEAS added.
The report explains how the method used is that of multiplatform coordination, in other words, FIMI authors distribute and amplify content through a variety of channels.
So, the identified channels, about 4,000, have been active 9,800 times in the 750 analyzed cases.
The most used platforms were Telegram (496 times), while in video Reddit and others.
