A mouse has been filmed tidying up a man’s shed almost every night for two months. Wildlife photographer Rodney Holbrook noticed that objects he had left out of place would mysteriously return to where they should be overnight.
Puzzled, Holbrook from Wales set up a camera on his work table to find out what was going on and saw some footage reminiscent of the 2007 animated film Ratatouille, where a rodent secretly cooks in a restaurant.
“This has been happening for months. I call him the pure Welsh rat. First, I noticed that some of the food I was handing out to the birds was ending up in some old shoes I kept in storage, so I set up a camera.”
The footage showed the rodent collecting pins, plugs, nuts and bolts and placing them in a tray on Holbrook’s workbench.
“He moved all kinds of things in boxes, pieces of plastic, nuts and bolts. I don’t bother fixing things now, as I know he will take care. I leave things out of the box and they are put back in their place by morning. 99 times out of 100, the mouse will stay up all night.”
