NASA astronauts find the first tomato grown in space, after it was lost 8 months ago.

The disappearance of the tomato was considered one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. But not anymore, as it was announced this week that it had been found by seven astronauts on the International Space Station, part of NASA.

“We have found something that many colleagues have been looking for for a long time,” said astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli.Planting some tomato roots on Mars was part of a NASA experiment to grow crops for future space missions.

After the tomato had grown in space, American astronaut Frank Rubio, who holds the record for the longest space flight at 370 days, plucked it from the plant and placed it in a small bag.

“I thought I had put the bag with the tomato in it in the bag to show my students its development, but I was wrong because I hadn’t noticed that the bag had fallen,” said astronaut Rubio.

Rubio had spent about 18-20 hours searching for the tomato on Mars and then surrendered on the pretext that the object had been destroyed.

Scientists argued that due to the physical nature of space, any object that is released is likely to implode rather than annihilate.

Although there are many question marks on this matter, the astronauts consider finding the tomato as an achievement, while it will undergo further examinations to prove how it managed to survive for a long time in space.
