Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev makes a shocking statement at the end of the US Open match against fellow countryman Rublev.
After the hard-fought victory, the former world number 1 has not spared criticism after playing in extreme temperatures of up to 39 degrees at the “Ashe Stadium” finding it very difficult. His warning is clear and without diplomatic language.
“A player will die while playing and you will see it live on television,” declared the Russian tennis player who had difficulty breathing, but even his warning did not serve to close the roof of the US Open’s main court.
He did this during the third set as he addressed the camera and the audience while in front of the media he added:
“The conditions were brutal. The only positive thing is that they were like that for both tennis players. At the end of the first set I wasn’t looking at the ball. I was looking at Rublev and I thought he might fall at any moment.”
