“Within six months either Prigozhin will die or there will be a second coup against Putin.”
This was the prediction that attracted attention after it was uttered by Christo Grozev, the Bellingcat network of investigative journalists and the author of many stories on plots and assassinations organized by the Kremlin.

In an interview with the Financial Times a few weeks ago he said “Everybody knows what they do with ‘traitors’. He [Putin] wants to see him [Prigozhin.] dead. He hasn’t been able to do that yet. After six months Prigozhin will either die or there will be a second coup.
“We work. The temperature is 50 degrees and. How we like it… Wagner’s boss’ last words from Africa, where he had been since the uprising against Vladimir Putin, before it was announced that he had been found dead in the crash of a private jet.
About two months after his 24-hour rebellion against the Russian military leadership and 48 hours before he was killed, Yevgeny Prigozhin released a public message on social media. In the video, which lasted about 40 seconds, Prigozhin was shown wearing camouflage clothing and holding an assault rifle. It was shot in an African country, according to the Gray Zone channel on the Telegram platform.
“We work. The temperature is 50 degrees and. Just the way we like it,” he declared. “Wagner Group is engaged in discovery and research. This makes Russia even bigger on all continents. And Africa even cheaper. Justice and happiness for African peoples. Nightmare for IS, Al Qaeda and other gangsters. We employ real heroes and continue to fulfill the tasks we have been assigned and promised to do,” he added.
In late June, Prigozhin announced that he would march on Moscow to demand that the Russian military leadership be “accounted for” for what he described as incompetence and ineffectiveness. The mercenary uprising ended about 24 hours later, after negotiations brokered by Minsk.
The Kremlin is said to have promised Wagner’s boss immunity, with one of the conditions of the amnesty being that he relocate to neighboring Belarus. However, Prigozhin instead reappeared on the sidelines of the Russia/Africa summit in St. Petersburg at the end of July.
