Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani and 17 other defendants this week are expected to be formally surrendered at the Fulton jail, also known as “Rice Street”. A large and damaged structure that has gained a bad reputation. The Fulton County Sheriff says that despite their high profiles, Trump and the others will be treated like any other defendant in that jail.
“If you are ignorant, we will treat you as such. And so we will take fingerprints, photographs, etc.”
Patrick Labat – Sheriff in Fulton County, USA
What will it look like on the inside when Trump and others officially surrender?
Retired Sheriff Charles Rambo says that normally, people who turn themselves in enter the building’s front door. Regardless, the next procedure is like any other.
“They will be escorted to the data entry office in the back. From there, they will probably have to have ties, shoelaces, all those things will be removed. From there, their fingerprints will be taken and prison photographs will be taken.”

Donald Trump and others will be photographed as defendants, but it is not clear whether those images will be made public.
People with knowledge of the process told CNN that normally, those who turn themselves in to the jail are screened by officials and at some point undergo a medical examination as well as a pre-trial background check.
But it is not clear whether the same procedure will be followed for Trump and other high-profile defendants. For a normal defendant, it would take hours to go through all the steps.
“I don’t expect Trump to spend a few hours in this prison, because the longer he stays, the more problems he will create. It’s going to be a hassle for the entire department, or at least for those who will be in jail when the former president is there. It will be a circus.”

If they didn’t have the financial deal, Trump and others could be held in that prison, which would be a terrible experience.
“Rice Street Jail is not a pleasant place. It’s dirty and scary.”

Last month, the Justice Department launched an investigation into the Fulton prison, following multiple deaths inside the facility. Last year, a prisoner was found dead in his cell. The victim’s family said that the very bad conditions and lack of hygiene influenced the loss of their relative.
