Apple will permanently delete an album of photos from your iPhone next month. However, there is a way not to lose them forever.
The tech giant has announced that it will “retire” My Photo Stream, an album that automatically saves photos taken in the last 30 days.
As a result, My Photo Stream stopped uploading photos on June 26th, and everything in that folder will be lost when the album is deleted on July 26th.
“My Photo Stream will end on July 26, 2023,” Apple explains on its website.
“As part of this transition, new photos uploaded to My Photo Stream from your device will stop uploading one month in advance, on June 26, 2023.”
If a specific photo you don’t want to lose isn’t in the library of the iPhone, iPad, or Mac you’re using, you should make sure to save it to the device’s library.
Apple users have expressed concern about the disappearance of this album on social networks.
“It seems to me that Apple photo stream is gone. I lost a lot of photos,” wrote one of them.Introduced by Steve Jobs in 2011, My Photo Stream is a free service that automatically uploads over 1,000 photos from the past 30 days.
